Ruth Zapico is a Spanish artist that specializes in film acting, directing, producing, and
writing. She earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Film Acting while simultaneously earning two
Certificates of Completion, the New York University Performing Arts Industry Essentials and the
New York University Film and TV Industry Essentials.
Ruth has been able to work on
various projects within Miami, Florida as well as Atlanta, Georgia through positions of Director, Lead Actress,
Producer and Writer. Zapico's most recent film, JOUSKA, is currently in a festival run and
was selected and premiered at the Tampa Bay Underground Film Festival. She is currently developing
her own production company, Zapico Studios, where she plans to create more art with those that hold
the same passion for the arts. Zapico Studios has at this time a future film in the production
stage. Ruth is also developing a podcast by the name of SoulsInbox where every episode is a
reminder of the shared
experiences that make us profoundly and beautifully human. In this groundbreaking series, and with
compelling
storytelling we explore diverse narratives, shared and untold anonymous stories, and intimate
interviews. Soulsinbox
aims to unravel the diverse tapestry of emotions, dreams, and challenges that define us.
Ruth's works are centered in realism and naturalism.
She works on exploring the emotional drive that comes from capturing the beauty in the human
behavior and character improvisation that is involved with art and film. Engagement of other
individuals within film is a fundamental component of generating awareness of women within film
and the essential seats that they carry through artistic lens. Ruth also serves as an advocate for
the arts within countries that do not support the arts by creating more opportunities for
underrepresented minds to connect and learn more about their craft of film itself.
